distraction in action

I switched from Linux to OS X. It hasn't been what I'd call a painless transition. I'm a hacker. I like to hack. I like to be able to tweak things
until they work just right. The Apple philosophy seems to be “take the
average clueless newbie, figure out what works for him, then make that the
only option.” For everything that works seamlessly (dual-head mode,
application directories) there's something that leaves me scratching my head
wondering how anybody could have let this code out the door (the finder, the
dock).

Ok, enough ranting for now. More details later when the mood strikes me.
